The Dutch Carbon Removal Pact brings together partners from industry, government, knowledge institutions and society to develop carbon removal in a transparent and responsible way. By doing so, we enable permanent and verifiable CO₂ removal and contribute to achieving climate targets.
From transparency and verification to societal legitimacy. The six core principles provide the foundation for the responsible, transparent and scalable development of CO₂ removal in the Netherlands.
CO₂ removal actively removes CO₂ from the atmosphere and stores it permanently. It addresses unavoidable residual emissions and is a necessary complement to emission reductions, helping to achieve climate targets.
